Patrice S Goldfarb, CSA has been an employee benefits consultant for over 20 years. She developed a specialization in long-term care insurance because of her interest in health care matters and the confusion between medical care and custodial care
Patti first became involved with Long Term Care insurance in 1988 as the manager of the benefits division of a financial consulting firm. She continued educating herself about long term care issues and analyzing carriers’ products. She became a Certified Senior Advisor, created training programs for the agents she worked with and wrote articles that were published in trade magazines. She also spoke for organizations such as the American Society for Aging, the National Association of Health Underwriters and Pace University about long term care issues.
In the early years of the long term care insurance industry, it was a challenge for agents to find reliable information about a client’s potential costs and then matching their needs with the appropriate policy and benefits. Patti , acting as a consultant to these agents, did extensive research, retracing how statistics were gathered, reanalyzing the information and then discussing cost trends, potential expenses and family histories with each person and their family. So, parents and their children would understand the need for coverage and how the carrier would pay benefits.
In 1992 she founded Creative Benefits Solutions, a consulting firm that worked with insurance agents, CPAs and attorneys helping them find cost effective solutions for their client’s employee benefits and long term care insurance needs. In 2002 the firm merged with a producer group called The Medical Link. This merger offered her customers expanded servicing. When she moved to New Jersey, Patti founded The Employee Benefits Advisors Group, so that she could bring the services of national experts in related fields, such as human resources, eldercare, employment lay, recruiting, etc. to her clients when needed. This organization is an affiliate of The Medical Link.
As an industry leader, Patti has been quoted publications such as Fortune, Kiplinger’s and Forbes. She was the founder of the New York State Association of Health Underwriters and has been an advisor to the New York City Chapter. She is past chair the Health Care Committee of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors
Patti has published numerous health insurance related articles and presented seminars on topics such as: “Mistakes Employers Make in Buying Health Insurance;””The Myths and Realities of Long Term Care;” “Long Term Care Insurance Design and Planning”; “International Health Insurance Issues and “How to Shop for Health Insurance.”
