Hi again,

Hard to believe - it's September, but...

Our next meeting is Friday, September 16 - just a week from this coming Friday.

Our speaker will be Jacque Schweppe who has been in the Senior Care industry for over 25 years.  Jacque spent a good portion of that time as a licensed administrator for Assisted Living Facilities in and around Orange County and she'll be speaking to us about Assisted Living with a topic of "Navigating the System".

Love to have you join us.  If you haven't been around for awhile, this would be a good time to come around.

All the best,

Ira

Hi all,

This Friday's meeting is still at:

Polly's Pies
2025 North Tustin Street, Orange, California 92865
(714) 637-3040

Our speaker this Friday, 7/15/11 will be Ross Jordan, CPCU, specializing in Errors and Omissions Insurance.

Ross is with CalSurance of Orange, CA and specializes in E & O insurance for life/health and P&C agents, as well as, many types of finanancial professionals and their firms.

His topic for Friday is: Common E&O Exposures and what to look for in your E&O program.

With all the baby-boomers coming on-line and low participation in LTCi, where do you think they (and their families) are going to look to recoup their LTC costs. This IS California - can you say 'lawsuit'.

Thanks - hope to see you there!!

Hi all,

We now have our speaker for the meeting on February 18th:

Frank Van Norstrand
Public Affairs Administrator/Social Security Admin, Santa Ana
7 Biggest Myths About Social Security

He's interesting, a wealth of information and very entertaining also.

Don't forget, we'll be meeting at the new venue (starting with the January meeting on Jan 21st):

Back Bay Conference Center
3415 Michelson Drive, Irvine, CA 92612
(Please note, the front of the building is a bowling alley and you must go around to the back of the building to find the Conference Center).

See you there.

Attended a HICAP meeting with one of our past Guild guest, "Council on Aging", what an amazing presentation. With as complicated as SS and Medicare is the COA has really helped in explaining this complicated subject. There was also representatives from SS and Veterans to answer questions. The people there who were just getting ready to retire were floored by the information with one retiree sitting next me discovering that he was paying medicare part D for years without having to, he was covered by his wife's employee benefits. Truly a presentation for anyone who will be collecting, collecting now, or whose family is collecting SS or medicare. See at the next Guild, Rene

Maybe just maybe there is good news ahead for LTCi and the CA Partnership. As we will discus at our meeting in June. CA passed SB 483 that will bring our state into compliance with the DRA 05. This means that for Medi-Cal qualifying home equity limit will be $750,000. However those who use CA Partnership benefits complete protection of equity is provided. This is a meeting you will not want to miss. Chuck
