According to Prevention magazine there are subtle ways to identify disease:

Weak sense of smell:
Older adults who cannot identify the scent of lemons,cinnamon, bananas or other items were 5 times more likely to develop Parkinsons disease.

Take fish oil supplements, omega -3 fatty acids can boost the brain's resistance to Parkinson's toxic compound MPTP. (Prevention October 2008)

Great advice, Kris! I make a point of getting plenty of Omega 3 fatty acids & take other preventive measure too ... and advise others to do the same.
